Naked face with Cellnique Skin Action Sebum Gel and Advanced Bio Renewal Masque *warning*

Hello! As promised, I'm back with a skin care post. Cellnique sent me some products to review. I guess most of you must be sick of cellnique product reviews eh? I have noticed there has been a lot of reviews on this brand - this is simply my take on the products.

Cellnique were generous enough to send two full sized of their products, which arrived promptly towards the end of my trip to UK. I have to admit, it arrived in good timing because my skin was turning in a right disaster! I gave a general diagnosis of my skin problem via email to the PR - T-zone problems: excess oil production, prone to blackheads and open pores. I was really glad they sent me two of the most raved products: Cellnique Skin Action Sebum Gel and Advanced Bio Renewal Masque.

I think I can ramble quite a bit when it comes to skin care review, so I'll try to make this concise as possible:

Cellnique Skin Action Sebum Gel:

Claims: • Controls excessive sebum • Reduces the formation of blackheads and whiteheads • Reduces skin inflammatory • Controls and prevents breakouts • Increases skin moistures and improves skin elasticity • Anti-irritation

Packaging: Comes in a 30ml bottle with a very hygienic pump. The pump actually works well, I get the right amount each time I use it! The bottle is clean-looking and I'd be happy to have it on my dressing table.

Texture/consistency: Not too thick or runny. I really hate gel textures that feels watery - this doesn't feel watery at all. It doesn't leave a sticky residue either and dries on the skin pretty quickly. I actually don't like using gel because they are either sticky or leaves a dry "evaporated" feeling. This gel does neither, therefore I'm happy with it!

Results: Are there results? Yes! Okay it claims to reduce both blackheads and whiteheads and oil secretion, getting clear skin within 10 days. Okay I can't vouch for the 10 days trial period. But what i have noticed that my blackheads have disappeared and not re-appeared over the last month ! I can't really comment if it's this Gel's doing or other products I've been using, but I did certainly notice that productions of blackheads have dramatically decreased, both on my forehead and chin. I have very little blackhead bumps now since I use this on a regular basis.

The other big difference I've actually noticed are the pores on my nose. Every time I DIY extract (in the shower lol), it gets cleaned but no sooner than 2-3 days later my nose is really dirty and blocked again. Now that I've been using this gel on a regular basis, the dirt is actually appearing slower than before.

How do I use it? I always use after toner/lotion - mainly on my t-zones because it is where I am the most oily. As mentioned before summer has made my skin even more oily than before. I have a better control of oil after using this with less blackheads :)

This is probably one of rare products that actually does what it says. I failed to review the Fancl pore treatment completely because I didn't see any changes towards my pores throughout the weeks of using it. Thus, I gave up on it. But with this Skin Action Sebum Gel, I've been wanting to continue to use this because of the positive changes! I can definitely see why this is such a popular product. This product is great for people who have problematic t-zones like myself. I would definitely recommend looking into this product if you're blackhead / oily prone around those areas.

For a lot of people $51 is a lot of money to spend on the single product but I think it's a pretty good investment to spend on a product that actually works! I use it twice daily with 1-2 pumps (for a 30ML bottle) and I still have quite a bit to go - I'd say it's not too bad for value for money and be happy to purchase it.

Now for the Advanced Bio Renewal Masque. A lot of the bloggers like this mask - again I was pretty excited to try this! 

Claims: Exfoliates dead skin cells and deep pore cleansing • Optimizes cell renewal performance • Slows down aging process • Instant lightening, brightening and whitening effects

Packaging: It comes in a 50g plastic jar. Quite a few of bloggers have mentioned it reminds people of Clinique lol.

Smell: A fruity, pineapple smell! A lot of the people like the smell but I found it a little to sweet and artificial lol. I can't really complain though because I only using this once or twice a week. I don't think I'd cope using it daily!

Consistency/Texture: It suppose to be a clay-type texture but honestly, it reminds me soft hair wax! haha. It has a soft sticky viscose texture with fine grains. I found this product did not completely dry up on the face as I applied this product, which is fine by me but I had to keep a look out on the clock because the box instructs us not to use it more than 10 minutes. I like the fact this is a two-in-one product because as you rinse, you exfoliate the skin.

Results: My skin was left smooth after using this product. At first I was a bit scared I might have a reaction to it because I felt a slight burning sensation using this product (as reassured on the box)! There were slight discomfort for the first few minutes then the sensation kind of dissipates. The grain isn't too harsh on the skin and exfoliates decently. My skin did look visibly smoother and felt clean after using it. I can't comment if it has any brighten effects because I am using other brightening skin care products and I only use this in the evening lol.  I'm very glad this product hasn't broke me out because this is quite a strong product to use.

Overall, I do like this product as a once a week treatment but it's not a must for me because I have my clarisonic that I use daily to deep cleanse my skin. I also find the burning sensation a little discomforting when using this product. Anyone with sensitive skin or severe dry skin condition should definitely be advised in avoiding this product. It's a nice all-rounder product but I would consider this product as a luxury because of the price tag of $51USD and what it does. I mean, you could buy both a deep-cleansing clay mask and exfoliator separately for a cheaper price tag.

 To Summarize: Yes both the products appear to have worked but please NOTE: I've also changed my cleansing routine (clarisonic - which I will review soon and my facial cleanser), which, of course would have affected these results. Overall I liked the two products, my only irks about these products are the lack of information given WITH these products besides the info on the box! For the mask, I've had to try and remember the time I'm suppose to leave on by looking at the box lol! Extra information could be given there.
