Vitacreme B12

I'm glad there's been a positive reception for the last post - all will be revealed soon ;) Thanks to those who made suggestions! I shall definitely include them in my future posts! Stay tuned ^____^

As for today, I will be talking about the Vitacreme B12! I know some bloggers have already talked about this - this is just my 2 cents on this product :)

First of all, I haven't always liked this product! I bought my first tube last year in September. The hype was already building up around then. I found my tube in my then-local Plaza store. I remember it being price around 4000yen, which is not bad I guess for a 50ml tube, but kinda expensive since I've seen the exact SAME product on Rakuten for about 2000yen! Last time I checked, they were selling it for £18.50 on a UK chemist store, Direct Chemist - slightly better value than Japan!

Vitacreme B12 Comes with a leaflet of information about this cream --

1st use – I gave this a go back in September 2009 for a few weeks. I stopped for a few months because I thought it broke me out.

2nd use – Whipped it out again in January after I noticed some minor scars from post-pimples. Generally speaking, I doesn:t really scar very easily and can heal up quite quickly. Every now and then I get pesky, stubborn off pimples that takes weeks to disappear! I remembered the main properties of this moisturizing is the regenerations of the skin cells and how it could fade scars so I gave it another go. On one particular scar was quite deep and red and once I started using the cream on it, it became less red, the size reduced and has faded a lot. I noticed it did NOT break me out too.

The cream...it's pink.. has a quite smell!

Then I noticed that my skin texture was actually improving and overall felt much smoother and more plumped. I don`t think cream is very moisturizing even though the texture feels quite thick. I`ve been through phases where my skin was desert-dry and I was STILL left with quite dry, obvious flaky skin after using this product. I like to pair this product with my Clinique Extra Thirst Moisturizing gel though! The gel basically does the BULK of the moisturizing but the cream is basically there to work its magic in repairing the skin. I recommend using this at night time because it does not absorb very quickly and can leave a shiny film on the skin, once you have applied. I DO, however, like to use a tiny amount in the day time to speed up the repairing for any fresh post-acne marks and it doesn`t feel greasy at all. I have noticed that this cream works better in fading and repairing fresh post-acne marks better than old.

Take this picture for an instance –

my naked skin.. circled the marks..

I had this pimple for about 2 weeks??! It refused to go for a while but when I did I started to focus on using the cream around the mark. A post-acne mark of this size would usually take a long time to disappear.. but it`s only been a few weeks and the skin is regenerating and fading quite quickly.

Overall I do like this product a lot, which is why I repurchased it after I finished the whole tube (I managed to get 10% off this time ;)). I love this product as SKIN REPAIRING cream rather than a moisturizer. It`s good value for that price since SKIN REPAIRING creams are often HIGH END and EXPENSIVE. DO note this product does NOT heal and make acne go away; it's suppose to regenerates the skin cells and fades away marks and scars that pimples and acne has left.

Disclaimer – as with all skincare products – what may work for me may not work for you. Best bet is to test it on a patch of skin / samples.

Looks promising but I haven't seen this in the US before.

I think this cream has a really distinct smell which people will either love or hate - I'm still undecided. When it comes to the healing of scars my skin is notoriously bad, whether this cream actually speeds up the process for me I'm still waiting to find out. It definitely softens the skin on application though.

Oh I like the idea of this as a skin repairing cream! It didn't work out as a moisturizer for me.

Thank you for the review Nic! I've been wanting to try out this product for a long time. I ordered it on ebay but unfortunately the seller sent me the vitacreme b12 body instead of the one for face and neck. I decided not to return it because I kinda didn't want to pay the shipping ^^ But since you said it does work as a skin repairing cream, so I think I'll order it and try it tout !

Great review Nic Nic, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I've been interested in this after seeing lots of blog love as well but your post made me see that this product is for skin repair more than moisturizing. I'm torn on getting it because on the one hand, I would like to fad my acne scars but on the other, I have combination skin (oily/dry in areas) so I have problems with flakey skin as well. I wish the product was cheaper so deciding would be easier haha.

This moisturizer sounds interesting, but do you recommend for dry skin people like me?

Sounds like something I might try one of these days and definitely one for post acne scars, looks quite effective! I think like you, I'd use it to for on-the-spot treatment too rather than a moisturiser.

I do miss using this on my skin now that I've finished a tube (but I have another tube in my skincare stash) - it was too much for my combo skin to use during the day, but I really liked using it at night

I used it for a while but wonder why it didn't do anything to my skin maybe becuase of the extremely hot weather here that melts away everything, ha ha ha..they actually burned the only mall that sold this here T T
