NARS Penny Lane Cream Blush

I got a request swatch from the lovely Stellar for the NARS cream blush, Penny Lane! It was requested a while ago..Sorry it took so long Stellar - I nearly forgot but then I got it out to use it again and I remembered, here you go! :D

A nude pink colour

I bought this back at Xmas, I put in a HQhair.com order before I left for UK because they had a special 25% off discount code; I managed to pick up 2 items before ALL the blush colours were sold out - I bought the cream blush and a powder blush in Amour - a peachy pink. I only received one item during xmas, and that was the cream blush. I DIDN'T receive Amour blush until like 3 f*cking months later!! It's ridiculous! I don't recommend purchasing there with those kind of codes; I'd rather not have waited so long for it! The blush is STILL waiting for me back in UK! haha.

So anyway, back to the main post..here's the swatch -

A little goes a long way - it's very pigmented! It glides on the skin really smoothly and blends very easily.

It's actually not a matte finish - there is an ever so slight glossy touch to it and very little shimmer- very pretty! I don't think your eyes are deceiving you, I do think there some peachy tones to it!

I hate glittery and over shimmery stuff so this is perfect! I love the colour; it's perfect to wear by itself - it usually gives me a very natural flush look. It also works well as a blush base and adds dimension the cheek and secondary blush colour. I believe you can also use this as a lip colour if you wish! I haven't tried but I guess I ought to :P

I think the blush works well by blending with the finger; I have tried to a use stippling brush - maybe the Coastal Scent brush was crap.. it didn't pick up much colour AND it shed some hair into my blush! hahaha...I know it can be unhygienic to dip into the product with the finger, so I recommend cleaning your hands before using it, if you choose to do so.

I just checked out the NARS official website - I'm not 100% if they put the price up to £19.50?! I got a discount so I'm not sure. It's quite pricey but if you're looking for a blush that works then this is a brand to invest in.

NARS is my first and only cream blush!

I'm sporting the cream blush with Bourjois Rose 95 blush (don't know if you can tell).. While the eye makeup has clearly melted away *embarrassing smudges - mascara*, my blush is still fully (or mostly) in tact! yay!

25 let me know what you think:

Reading all your make-up related posts has inspired me to get some new spring color palette for eyes, though I may need to figure out how to apply it :P

The cream blush looks really pigmented! Love it on you, since it gives you a lovely flush.

I've never used cream blushes, because I'm afraid of not being able to blend it, haha...

the blush color looks pretty!

I hate it when eye makeup wears away. It seems to happen to me with almost any eyeliner I've tried. :P

Nice!

My fave cream blushes are:

Illamasqua sob - but that needs to be set with a little powder

Becca Amarylis - More of a gel blush and it is perfect.

Canmake Tokyo - Vitamin Orange.....I love this!!

Yes...I've been lemming for Penny Lane for a while now but NARS price tag here in the UK just put me off everytime!! Have to consider and re-consider. Anyway, thanks for the review. Strengthening my justification to pick this up! lol. =)

That's a great shade - no too crazy pink, but not too much coral. Blush is the one product I forget most often, but it can really brighten up skin. I'm quite pale, so I should probably use it more often!
